There are only two kinds of people out there: the ones who are down with Ace Tee and the ones who have neither hearts nor ears. »Bist du down«, the collaborative track between the Hamburg native and the rapper Kwam.e, travelled once around the world and ended up back where it started, firmly anchored in its home city. After all, someone’s gotta show the St. Pauli old-timers how good the music of the past (on this side of the 1990’s) can sound. While Ace Tee, who is meanwhile also a successful fashion designer, blesses the track »#ESISKWAM« with the catchiest TLC hooks that were never written, the Ghanian rapper argues the following: »Während ich diesen Beat zerreiß / mach ich aus deutschem Rap Kartoffelsalat mit Dönerfleisch.« (»While I’m tearing up this beat / I turn German rap into potato salad with Döner meat.«) This is no hollow claim—after all, Ace Tee and Kwam.e have already circled the world once, and they’re about to do it again.
