It’s hard to imagine someone liking Micachu, The Streets, and Massive Attack equally, but Obaro Ejimiwe aks Ghostpoet does. In fact, he likes everything except being put inside a box. Since making waves with his debut EP »The Sound of Strangers« in 2010, the Brit uses music not only as a pure means of expression, but also as a stage upon which to tells his stories. And he has lots of stories to tell—about how badly off everyone’s doing, for one, and about how we could all be doing better. And though Ghostpoet might not be sure how to proceed after his last album, »Dark Days + Canapés«, he’ll have to proceed one way or another. There are still so many untold stories, so many people for Ejimiwe to unite with his voice. It hardly matters, in a way, what kind of music comes in tow. It’s perhaps enough to know that Ghostpoet resonates with Micachu, The Streets, and Massive Attack in equal parts, and that he wants so much more from this world.
