Sound and performance artist Pan Daijing is usually at home in other contexts and at other festivals – festivals where electronic music, the more experimental variety, plays a bigger role than at Pop-Kultur. However, that we now incorporate her in our ›pop‹ world has to do with the conversations we have had with her. Daijing is very much interested in pop and related staging and performance strategies. Together with the Chinese-born artist, whose music ranges from noise, techno to ambient, we visited a performance at RambaZamba. We were all fascinated by the play, the actors, the music and last but not least the space. Daijing said »Yes!« and how much ›pop‹ she'll become for Pop-Kultur we’ll hear and see in August!
