There is no task more thankless for a DJ than to fill the gaps in between concerts. Or at least that’s what one might think. Truthfully, though, there’s actually nothing more beautiful than catching your audience in those moment when they’re not paying full attention. A bassline sneaks up behind them at the buffet there, a backbeat pops open a bottle of beer here, subtle melodies take shape around the toilet queue, and so on. Indeed, DJing ‘in between’ leaves a lot of space for stylistic freedom while also demanding the necessary sure-shot instinct for the right tune at what might seem like the wrong time. That’s why Pop-Kultur has invited the best of the best to tend to these moments. Expect the unexpected, just when you least expect it. Makes sense, right?
